Who wouldn't love a basic minimal skincare regime? Unless you are a lazy sloth skincare enthusiast like me, you can't love a minimal skincare. You die for it lol.
If you are still unfamiliar with the basic skincare, you better read my post!
What is Basic Minimal Skincare?
Basic minimal skincare is such a blessing. Basically you only need to focus on the most important thing to put on your face. This skin regime only consists of four basic steps:
- Cleansing
- Toning
- Moisturizing
- Protecting
Basic Minimal Skincare that is Safe for Pregnancy
Usually, when pregnancy hits, women tend to throw all of their skincare game to the window due to the harsh chemical ingredients.
Luckily, even before pregnancy I have been only using alcohol-, paraben-, and SLS-free skincare products. So when my pregnancy comes, there's almost no change happen to my skincare routine.
Simply it's because in basic minimal skincare there are less item types to choose, so I can ponder more on the high-quality values I need to find within the products.
Now, what are my basic skincare items that's also safe for pregnancy?

Facewash
Facewash is the first step of basic minimal skincare you can do. Cleansing is always important because it decides the efficacy of your whole skincare game.
For an alcohol-, scented-, sls-, and paraben- free facial wash I picked Hadalabo products. I had tried all the face wash variants and this one works best for me.
Gokujyun Ultimate Moisturizing Face Wash.
If you happen to have dry and sensitive skin condition, this plays well for you. It has enough bubbles, not too much. Super gentle on skin and doesn't leave any tightening effect after using it. It kinds of moisturizing the skin too.

Toner
Toning is a step to balancing your skin pH to normal after using facial wash. It seems simple and trivial, but for anyone who consecutively doing it will understand the difference.
For years, I apply Hada Labo toner with orange stripe known as Gokujyun Moisturizing Lotion as my toner. The texture is super light, watery, but absorb easily to skin and leave no sticky feeling.
Gokujyun Moisturizing Lotion
But recently, I changed my toner to Hatomugi Skin Conditioner and it works as best. Despite the price tag fact that draws me in, this rice-based toner treats my skin really well. It comes in big size so when I want to use it as a cotton-mask toner, I can use it as much as I want without feeling guilty.

Moisturizer
Next is moisturizing. You cannot skip moisturizing part since it is the key to keep your skin plumpy, moist, and bright.
Again for this step I entrust my face to the Hada Labo Gokujyun pink stripe. It has milky-like appearance, and thick lotion texture. It takes time to absorb on skin and perhaps leaving a little bit of sticky feeling.
Gokujyun Moisturizing Milk
I applied the moisturizer more than twice a day when I feel my skin is too dry. There are even times when I applied them every time I had done my prayer. So it was like five times a day.
Guess what? It works wonder. Some of my dorm-mates ever asked me curiously about what products I used since my skin looked radiant. It's the moisturizer and the frequency of applying it, I reckon. Because once I apply it lazily, the effect is not there anymore.

Sunscreen
Now the last step of your basic minimal skincare that is also safe for pregnancy is the protection stage.
I used Skin Aqua SPF 50+ for my sunscreen. Skin Aqua is a part of Rohto, a brand that also produces Hada Labo. So basically, I am still loyal to Hada Labo on my skincare routine.
Skin Aqua SPF 50+ Sunscreen is suitable for those who have dry and sensitive skin. The texture is watery and very light. It feels light and leaves no white cast. It doesn't take so much effort for applying it evenly on skin.
However, it takes time to absorb on skin and leave a little bit of greasy feeling. That's pretty normal for sunscreen. I believe skin aqua has the lightest greasy feels compared to other drugstore sunscreen products.
What I love from this item is the fact that not only it protects my skin from getting burned, but it also improves my skin barrier. There are positive changes I noticed when I applied them.
What's the Benefit of Basic Minimal Skincare?
There are so many things to love about this minimal skincare routine. Besides you have less product with you, you got less time to pamper yourself and focus more on other stuff you can work on.
Environmentally and ideally speaking, this skincare step is the best out of there.
- Less waste: you get less plastic products on your hand ðŠī✔️
- Frugal living: you spend money wisely ð°✔️
- Time and energy well spent ⌛✔️
Yeay! All checked.
