Five Facts about Me

Explaining yourself is hard. It takes courage and responsibility to say what kind of person you are. Perhaps that is why the very first question in a job interview would be this cliche yet horrendous question. Yet, here is me trying to make you know me lol. This post is about five facts about me.

I was thinking back and forth about what to write on my consecutive post challenge. Then this prompt came to my mind. I thought, hell no. But then, I changed my mind because, perhaps… you will find these posts of mine more relatable when you know me or the fact that we share some similarities. Either things we love, what we are, and what we are planning to be.

So, here it is my reader. Five facts about me.

  1. A Mother who Tries To Reconnect to Herself

I greeted my end of 20-ish age by being a mother. Yes. I am a mother of one and currently enjoying my life with the new title called umma. Don’t get me wrong at that ‘try to reconnect’ because I really am thankful to meet my daughter. No doubt.

However, perhaps it is just hormonal things. Before a mother, I know I am me fully. So I try to understand and find myself better. I took several classes, tried some art projects, to not lose connection with the real me. ‘

Being a mother is a blessing. I won’t trade for anything in return. But sometimes it happens, we miss the old us, right, mama? Only new mothers will understand this feeling. Thus why I am blogging to use this platform sharing with other mamas.

  1. English Graduate

I love learning languages, and it all started from the moment my cousin taught me English. It was raining cats and dogs in my house when my female cousin visited. Being bored, she told me to read my English worksheets. From that day onward, learning English has been my motivation to go to school everyday.

Learning foreign language has taught me a lot. Beyond translating words, learning language teaches us to capture the concept of one personality, way of thinking, and culture. It also elevates our horizon. Feeling these enormous benefits of understanding others' language drives me to teach it to others. So that they will find this advantage, too.

  1. I love making things from scratch

I love DIY! I learned how to sew by self-taught since I was in elementary school. Then I happened to purchase my own sewing machine in 2017. Since then I have busily tried out making patterns and created dresses for myself, my little sister, my mom, and nearly everyone in my family.

This addiction of making things does not only stop at making things from fabric. If you are wondering why my blog template is still as old, because I love my experimental tracks on this platform. Instead of purchasing the template, I demand myself to make one xD

That’s how much I love making things by my own hand. Currently, I also learnt how to crochet and embroidery. Guess why? Because I want to make all handmade items for my baby daughter. This addiction is pretty severe, aint it?

  1. Beauty enthusiast

Are you into less-waste beauty products? If you are, then we share the same thing! I am currently on my journey into less-waste beauty products. Usually I share my thoughts about them on my blog as well.

Not only into less-waste kind of products, I also put attention heavily on homemade skincare. Nothing controversial, though. I learn how to make skin and body care with the available ingredients in my kitchen –it is very momma thingy, you know.

However, fret not, because all of my homemade skincare is made based on science. Not mumble jumble gut feelings that might burn my skin ;) measurement is always taken.

  1. Selective bookworm

I read books, too! I thought I was in a reading slump for years. Until recently when I was pregnant and having a child, I realised how much books I have read.

So, I wasn’t in a reading slump. Turned out, I just changed my genre of book. From reading romance during my teens, now I read more non fiction and self-improvement books.

If you are into books too, I think we shall make a good friend!

Alright, that’s a wrap. Those were the five facts about me. I am a mother, DIY addict, English graduate, into a less-waste beauty journey, and a bookworm with taste. If you think we have things in common, tell me! I would love making new friends, and readers on my platform. Xoxo.
